I have been playing this game for around three years now, and the new workshop is the best thing that your team has put in place. I know that you communicate regularly with upper tier players, and even have some people in the chats. Has your team considered discussing the changes with the mid/lower tier players? The upper tiers may be upset at the emergence of players with less play hours and the newest hardware, but that is simply ego.

There is nothing better than trying something new in game. We, and I think most if not all of the good people here would agree, would rather have quicker access to the newest bots and weapons in game so that we can test and play them before commiting anything to the horrendous upgrade cycle you have us on. Simply running them on the test server, or in skirmish, doesn’t benefit me as a player. I build bots to my play style. I have access to or have only upgraded certain weapons, and I have only certain bots that I can pair with them.

Let’s look at your math for a minute. I recently built a Falcon, and in my opinion it is one of the hardest bots to play effectively in the game even after the update. Fully utilizing the workshop it takes about a week to gather the components needed to build a Falcon. The Falcon takes roughly a month to upgrade to level 12 and two, plus gold, to get to 12mk2. I can spend most of that upgrade time gathering enough components for three exoduses. If I want run three exoduses on the Falcon at level 12 mk2 (57 days to reach level 12) then I’m looking at an additional 12 months just for the weapons. In order for me to run that bot at full power, I can expect to spend 14 months. Let’s say it takes me a year with the video reduction. That time completely prevents me from upgrading any other item.

I currently have three hangers; brawling, speed, and mid to long range. If I were to fill all those hangers with new bots and weapons it would take me 15 years to max them all. 15 years. Insane.

I honestly don’t understand what you folks are thinking, but most of us cannot, or will not, invest the money to remain competitive. The mid and lower tiers will eventually be filled with non paying players ostracized from the paying players because of the game economics and they will quit. It’s happening now. I have seen it in the clans, and I can see it in the comments to this very article. I may still be here when you turn the lights off only because I love this game, but I may only have a hurd of mk1 Griffins to fight with.

I do have a solution. If you guys turned the servers off. Simply turned them off. You could save money on electricity and the rest of us can spend our afternoons productively doing something to better ourselves and our families lives.
